PADI Rescue Diver Course in Curacao

Total Cost (Gear Included) - $650

Pre-Requisites:

  • Advanced Open Water Diver.

  • First Aid training within the past 24 months.

Rescue Diver is the course most divers name as their favourite, and also the one that changes how they dive. You stop looking only at the reef and start reading the people around you: spotting a problem while it's still small, and knowing what to do when it isn't.

It's also the last step before the professional ratings. Gear is included in the $650.

Step 1 - PADI eLearning

The Rescue Diver eLearning is where the thinking happens, and you can get it done before you land in Curacao.

You'll work through self-rescue, how to spot stress in another diver before it turns into panic, emergency equipment and oxygen, and how to manage an accident from the surface.

It's self-paced, online or offline, on a computer or your phone. Most people spread it over a couple of weeks at home.

Connect with your instructor whenever you have a question.

eLearning time commitment: 8-12 hours

Step 2 - With Your Instructor

This is the part people remember. You'll run rescue scenarios in the water with your instructor and the other students, taking turns being the diver in trouble and the one who sorts it out.

You'll practise cramps, tired divers, panicked divers at the surface, and bringing up someone who's unresponsive. By the end it stops feeling like a drill and starts feeling like something you could actually do.

Total time commitment: 2-3 days
