The first professional rating. You learn to lead certified divers on guided dives, assist instructors on courses, and handle the judgement calls that come with being responsible for other people underwater. This is where you stop being a customer and start being staff.

PADI ASST. INSTRUCTOR
The bridge between leading dives and teaching them. You learn to conduct portions of PADI courses under an instructor's supervision, and you cover most of the classroom and confined water teaching that the full Instructor course expects you to already know.

PADI INSTRUCTOR
The Instructor Development Course. At the end of it you can teach PADI courses and certify divers on your own. Running it on site is what a 5 Star Instructor Development Center rating exists for.
